RPG Shooter: Starwish

Skills Guide

-----------------------------
Tier I: 4 stages cleared
-----------------------------

Explosive Crit - Enables secondary weapons to crit. The ability for your secondary weapons to crit is a direct improvement to damage output. This is particularly useful with the other secondary-related skills. The crit rate is 0 plus your own crit rate.

Insurance - Earns cash depending on how much health you have left after defeating a boss. The amount you earn scales with each world you're in, further multiplied by your Moola boost. You'll find many more things in your price range with Insurance! Remember, if you have very little health when you defeat a boss, you will earn very little in return!

Tail Shot - Fires Machgun behind you when firing (firing rate equal to your bomb rate). Better than it looks. You'll find many enemies who love to hide behind walls. There's also a few bosses who may end up behind you for whatever reason. You'll also earn the xp and cash from the enemies who pass you and get nailed by this. Note that the damage of Tail Shot is based on your Machgun level, so don't forget to upgrade it often.

-----------------------------
Tier II: 9 stages cleared
-----------------------------

Kitsune's Cloak - 5% chance to negate damage. Very basic defensive skill. Functionally identical to Evade, but with its own "roll", essentially giving you two chances to negate a hit. Not bad as far as survivability skills go.

Vertical Spread - Fires spread shots up and down when firing. Good, but situational. Enemies who are directly above or below you don't show up too often, but it does give peace of mind being able to spray lots of bullets. The damage of Vertical Spread is based on your own Spread gun, so make sure to keep it up to date!

Rapid Reload - Secondary weapons fire faster. A direct damage increase through secondary weapons. Can't go wrong with more power. This improves the fire rate from 1.875 to about 2.14. This will also increase the fire rate of Tail Shot by the same amount.

-----------------------------
Tier III: 14 stages cleared
-----------------------------

Overdrive Charger - This will let you gain Overdrive at all times. Amount gained improves with your Overdrive% value. Overdrive is a very powerful tool. Not just for the beam, but also for the invulnerability it grants after the beam has passed. If you take Overheal, you can even recover a fair amount of health during Overdrive.

Demolitions - Very powerful skill, this fires extra secondary weapons. You will find many uses for this.

Long Shot - A deceptively useful skill. This speeds up bullets from Machgun, Laser, Crush, Sawmines, and Wave. The faster bullets also mean that Crush and Sawmines travel much farther, permitting you to hit from safer distances. There may be times you wished the bullets didn't go as far, and this cannot be undone, so choose carefully!

-----------------------------
Tier IV: 19 stages cleared
-----------------------------

Triton Absorber - 10% of damage you take is added to your shields (after damage has been inflicted). A very powerful defensive skill. This almost acts like a passive 10% damage reduction. As far as defensive skills go, this one is one of the better ones.

Overheal - Restores 10% of your health when you activate Overdrive. One of the few skills that will let you restore health. 10% is better than it sounds, especially if you are good at generating Overdrive during battles. Take note that health that is restored also improves your speed loss. If you stacked health, it will take that much more to bring you down.

Power Critical - Adds 25% critical damage at all times. Purely offensive skill, which combos well with Explosive Crit (which enables secondary weapons to crit). Having a high crit rate also helps.

-----------------------------
Tier V: 24 stages cleared
-----------------------------

Overdrive Charger II - Functionally identical to Overdrive I. Combined, they make overdrive generation rather speedy.

Defensive Shielding - Your defense stat now adds to your shields and regen (in addition to intelligence). It may look unattractive at first, but this effectively doubles your shields and regen, provided you kept defense and int the same. This can result in VERY powerful shields, and is a very good defensive skill overall.

Self Fix - Restores health slowly at all times. The only other skill in the game that will restore your health. The regeneration scales with your maximum health. Not bad, and with Insurance, might even earn you some more cash. You'll also recover speed lost due to health damage. The rate is about 10% of your health over the course of one minute. If you have lots of health, you'll find it even more useful!
